JBJ Bulbs, Fresh & Marine
Compact fluorescent bulbs should
be replaced every 14-16 months. Replacement is vital for the health of your
livestock due to a 50% decline in spectrum and intensity. All bulbs shown here
are of the European linear pin style.
6500K DAYLIGHT - A triphosphor full spectrum daylight lamp that simulates the natural midday tropical sun. The bulb of choice for freshwater planted aquaria.
10,000K DAYLIGHT - A crisp, ice-blue daylight spectrum. Replicates sunlight for deeper ocean environments with stronger emissions in the blue spectrum. The best lamp for all photosynthetic corals and invertebrates.
BLUE ACTINIC (7100K) - A short wavelength blue lamp. Re-creates the natural dawn and dusk effects of the natural reefs which are essential for zooxanthellae algae. Generally used in combination with the 10,000K daylight bulbs listed above for coral reefs.
COMBO BULB (10,000K/BLUE) - The original 10,000K daylight and blue actinic lamp built side-by-side. This lamp contains a crisp, ice-blue daylight and blue actinic for photosynthetic zooxanthellae algae. Perfect for use where dual bulb configurations are not possible.
03 ACTINIC - A short wavelength blue lamp peaking at 420 nm. Rare earth phosphors provide the ultimate light source for zooxanthellae algae, but age more quickly - requiring frequent replacement. (We recommend replacement after six months of use)
